Most data upload processes in the admin system require spreadsheets be saved in CSV UTF-8 comma delimited) format, as opposed to XLS, XLSX, TXT, etc.
Below are the steps, depending on the version of Microsoft Office you are using.
MS Office 2016+
- Click File then Save As
- In the Save As window choose Browse
- In the Save As dialog click the Save as type drop down
- Select the CSV UTF-8 (comma delimited) (*.csv) option
- Click Save
MS Office 2013 and older
Older versions of Excel don't have an encoding option so you must use Notepad to change the file to UTF-8:
- Right click the file and select Open with Notepad
- Click File, Save As
- In the Save As dialog, click the Encoding drop down
- Select UTF-8
- Click Save
