How to setup OKTA as an Identity Provider

Please read How to setup Single Sign On (SAML) before following this guide.

  1. Login to OKTA as an administrator
  2. Expand Applications in the left hand menu and select Applications
  3. Click the Browse App Catalog button
  4. In the search box, enter "Workstars" and select the "Workstars" integration
  5. Click the Add Integration button
  6. In the Application label box, enter the name you want to show on the dashboard or leave the default
  7. In the Subdomain box, enter your Workstars subdomain (e.g. if your program URL is https://something.workstars.com then your subdomain is 'something')
  8. Select the appropriate Application visibility options or leave the defaults
  9. Click the Done button

In the next step, you need to get some information so you can add your Identity Provider to our app:

  1. Click the Sign On tab
  2. In the Settings > Sign on methods > SAML 2.0 section, click the More details link
  3. Copy and save the values for Sign on URL and Issuer
  4. Download the Signing Certificate

At this point we suggest you assign the app to a test user via the Assignments tab (once you have tested it, you can assign all your users as needed).
