How to edit or cancel a Recognition or Comment

If necessary, a Recognition can be removed from the Wall (but will still exist in the employee's account, the initiator's Recognition history and/or the Manager's action list, and reports), or it can be edited (ex. text contains errors), or completely cancelled from the system (ex. was posted in error, post violates company standards, etc).

Only the free-form Reason can be edited.  If anything else needs to be changed, Cancel the recognition instead and have the initiator submit a new Recognition.

Good to know

  • The Recognition initiator may edit the Recognition reason themselves on the Wall
  • Recognition Comments can be edited by the Commenter by clicking the 3 dots to the right of the Recognition on the Wall and selecting Edit Comment
  • Employees may Report Inappropriate Content by clicking the 3 dot ellipses in top right corner of Recognition on the Wall which generates an email to the Primary Admin for review
  • Pre-written Birthday and Service Award messages and Comments are not editable on the Wall
  • Likes (emojis) without Comments cannot be changed or removed
  • If a Financial Reward was attached to a Cancelled Recognition and is unspent by the recipient, then the reward will be cancelled and removed from the recipient's balance, and returned to the budget holder and detailed within their budget statement*
  • If a Financial Reward was attached to a Cancelled Recognition and has already been spent (redeemed) by the recipient, either partly or fully, then the recognition will be cancelled but the funds will not be deducted from their balance or returned to the budget holder (You can make manual amendments to balances and budgets but this will not cancel any rewards that have already been spent)
  • If a Perk was attached to a Cancelled Recognition, it can be cancelled prior to it being redeemed by the recipient and the Perk Tokens will be returned to the budget holder (Once the perk status is "Redeemed", it cannot be cancelled or reversed)
  • If you only want the Recognition removed from the Wall, but still exist in the employee's account, the initiator's Recognition history and/or the Manager's action list, and reports, Remove the Recognition from the Wall instead of cancelling
  • *If the recognition was given from the Admin portal, any Finance Reward that was attached to the Recognition will need to be manually removed from the recipients’ account(s)
